A 25-year-old passenger has reported that a man seated next to her engaged in inappropriate behaviour during a United Airlines flight. The incident allegedly took place on September 3 during a 6 am journey from Rochester, New York, to Newark, New Jersey. The passenger, who works as a paediatric crisis therapist, alleged that she was visibly uncomfortable as the man reportedly began touching himself while making eye contact with her.

The woman moved away from her assigned seat and sought assistance from the cabin crew, expressing discomfort with the situation. She mentioned that the crew permitted her to stand in a different area of the cabin temporarily but later instructed her to return to her original seat when there were no alternative seating options available.

“On multiple occasions, I communicated my discomfort,” the passenger recounted, adding that she felt distressed about the requirement to sit beside the man again. A flight attendant allegedly reassured her that the situation would only last for a brief period during landing.

Passenger Claims No Action Was Taken After Landing

Following the aircraft’s arrival in Newark, the woman alleged that no alert was raised to the authorities regarding the incident. An airport agent reportedly responded to her concerns with indifference, asking, “What am I supposed to do about it?” and indicated that it was her responsibility to contact law enforcement.

The passenger felt compelled to report the incident to several authorities, including United Airlines, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
