UK University Announces ₹12 Lakh Scholarship for Indian Postgraduate Students

The CSR Journal Magazine

A university in the United Kingdom has unveiled the Vice Chancellor’s Global Impact and Leadership Scholarship aimed at Indian students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies starting September 2026. This initiative aims to reward applicants demonstrating exemplary academic performance and a dedication to enacting significant changes in their fields.

The scholarship grants a tuition fee reduction of Rs 12 lakh, subject to fluctuations in exchange rates. This financial assistance is designed to enhance access to postgraduate education in the UK for talented international candidates.

Details of Financial Support

For individuals enrolled in two-year master’s programs, the scholarship will apply solely to the first year of study. By alleviating tuition expenses, this scholarship is anticipated to facilitate Indian students in obtaining international academic exposure, engaging in research endeavors, and pursuing global career opportunities.

Application Process and Evaluation Timeline

Applicants must provide written responses that elucidate their motivations for selecting the University of East Anglia (UEA) and their chosen program. They should also articulate their career aspirations and leadership objectives, as well as how their studies will contribute to positive global impacts. Evaluation of applications will occur in March and June 2026, with candidates receiving notifications shortly after each assessment period. The final date for submitting applications is June 26, 2026.

Eligibility Requirements for Indian Applicants

To qualify, candidates must be Indian citizens who have either a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible postgraduate teaching program at UEA. They should be classified as overseas fee-paying students and are expected to hold, or achieve, qualifications equivalent to a UK 2:1 undergraduate degree.

The scholarship is available for specific programs and cannot be combined with other UEA scholarships, with the exception of the International Early Payment Award. Students receiving full funding from governments or organizations for their tuition fees are ineligible; however, education loans or government-backed loans that require repayment do not impact eligibility.

Steps to Apply for the Scholarship

Prospective students interested in this scholarship must first apply to and gain admission to an eligible postgraduate taught program at UEA. Following receipt of a conditional or unconditional offer, they can submit their scholarship application via the university’s scholarship application form. This submission must include a written statement detailing their motivations and aspirations.

Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly review the eligibility criteria and prepare their responses in advance before the submission deadline. Universities usually convey the results of scholarship applications through email once the review process is finalized. Students seeking to apply are advised to stay updated through the university’s official website.
