The mother of a 23-year-old man, Sahil Dhaneshra, who tragically lost his life in a road accident in Dwarka earlier this month, has shared a heartfelt video on social media. In her message, she claims that her son was killed by a minor driving an SUV recklessly while making social media “speed fun reels”. The incident occurred on February 3 near Lal Bahadur Shastri College.

Mother’s Plea

Sahil’s mother, in a video posted on X, expressed her grief and frustration as she sought justice for her son. She stated, “I raised my child for 23 years as a single mother. On February 3, my innocent child was blown away by a car. I am a helpless mother.” Alongside the video, she detailed her loss, emphasizing the circumstances of the accident involving a vehicle with the license plate number UP57BM3057.

Accident Details

The accident reportedly took place at approximately 11:57 AM. According to the Delhi Police, upon arrival, they discovered an SUV, a motorcycle, and a car that were all damaged. Sahil, the motorcycle rider, was found deceased at the scene. Additionally, a taxi driver named Ajit Singh, who had parked on the roadside, sustained injuries and was transported to IGI Hospital. The police are currently awaiting the final medical opinion regarding his case.

Legal Proceedings

A case has been opened at the Dwarka South Police Station, with charges including rash driving, causing death by negligence, and endangering the safety of others under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The driver of the SUV has been identified as 17-year-old Akshatra Singh. It has been confirmed that he was not in possession of a valid driving license at the time of the accident.

Investigation Progress

During the investigation, the police apprehended the minor and presented him before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), where he was subsequently sent to an observation home. On February 10, he was granted interim bail by the JJB, citing his status as a Class 10 student and the upcoming examination schedule. All vehicles involved in the accident have been confiscated for mechanical inspection, and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being analyzed as part of the ongoing investigation.

Accident Circumstances

Preliminary investigations indicate that the SUV collided with Sahil’s motorcycle, which was traveling in the opposite direction, before striking a parked car on the roadside. The police have confirmed that the situation remains under investigation to gather further details and evidence regarding the incident.
