Tamil Nadu Woman In Kuwait Appeals For Help, Alleges Torture And Unpaid Salary

The CSR Journal Magazine

A Tamil Nadu woman working as a domestic help in Kuwait has appealed to Indian authorities for rescue, alleging that she has been subjected to severe torture and abuse and has not received her salary for the past two months. She also claims she has been without food for more than 50 days.

The woman, identified as Anitha, travelled to Kuwait a few months ago for domestic work through intermediaries. In a video appeal, she said she had been in the country for three months and alleged that the abuse had continued for the past two months. She urged the Kallakurichi District Collector and Superintendent of Police to intervene and help bring her back to India.

Woman Appeals To Kallakurichi Authorities

In the video, Anitha makes an emotional appeal to the district authorities, saying she can no longer endure the alleged treatment and fears for her safety.

“It has been three months since I came here. They are torturing me and treating me very cruelly. I request the Collector madam and the SP madam to somehow rescue me alive and help me return to my motherland, India. I cannot bear it any more,” she says.

Anitha, who is the mother of two teenagers, repeatedly asks for help and says she is afraid that her employers could kill her.

“They have not even paid me my salary for two months. They are treating me very badly. Please somehow save me and take me back. Please save me and take me back somehow. I am unable to bear this. I am afraid they will kill me. I cannot take it anymore,” she adds.

Mother Seeks Immediate Intervention

Anitha’s mother, Anila, has also approached the authorities, seeking their intervention to secure her daughter’s return to India.

She alleged that the family had been cheated by an agent through whom Anitha travelled to Kuwait for employment. According to the mother, her daughter was being “treated very cruelly and tortured”.

Anila appealed to the authorities to take steps to rescue Anitha and ensure that she is brought back to India safely at the earliest.

Family Seeks Safe Return From Kuwait

The allegations have prompted the family to seek urgent intervention from the authorities in Kallakurichi. Anitha’s video appeal focuses on her alleged physical and emotional distress, while her mother has sought assistance in securing her daughter’s safe return.

The family has urged officials to intervene and help bring Anitha back to India after what she alleges has been several weeks of abuse, non-payment of wages and deprivation of food.
