Sonos Launches AI-Powered Sonos 27 and Premium Audio Gear in India

The CSR Journal Magazine

Sonos has announced the release of Sonos 27, the latest version of its audio operating system, which incorporates artificial intelligence capabilities. This upgrade has been developed over two decades and features a redesigned app that enhances the interaction between speakers and headphones. The firm aims to create a cohesive ecosystem for audio control, making it easier for users to manage their devices.

The standout feature of Sonos 27 is the introduction of Sonos Voice, the company’s proprietary voice assistant tailored for music selection and ambiance management. By facilitating interaction between various AI engines, users will now have more control over their audio devices.

Additionally, Sonos has introduced Sonos 27 mcp, which will enable compatibility with external AI assistants like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This integration allows users to communicate via ChatGPT and command the system to play music throughout their homes seamlessly.

New Product Launches: Beam Ultra Soundbar and Ace Ultra Headphones

As part of this expansion, Sonos has unveiled the Beam Ultra soundbar and Ace Ultra headphones, both designed to enhance overall audio experiences. The Beam Ultra soundbar includes support for 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos audio, which aims to provide an immersive sound experience.

This soundbar is equipped with features such as AI Speech Enhancement for clearer dialogues, Night Sound to optimise audio at lower volumes, and Trueplay tuning that adapts the sound according to the room’s acoustics, thus providing a more personalised listening experience.

The Ace Ultra headphones come with advanced capabilities including spatial audio and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), designed to block out external sounds effectively. With a total of ten microphones, these headphones ensure optimal sound quality, and they offer up to 35 hours of playback time even with ANC activated. A quick three-minute charge can provide an additional three hours of listening.

Availability of Sonos Play in India

On September 8, Sonos will launch its portable speaker, Sonos Play, in India. This speaker can connect to the Sonos system through Wi-Fi and boasts a battery life of up to 24 hours. With an IP67 rating, it is waterproof and features a built-in power bank that can charge other devices.

The Sonos Play also allows users to group multiple speakers via Bluetooth, a feature that is particularly useful when they are away from home. Additionally, it supports various platforms, including Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay 2, along with compatibility with voice services and the Sonos app.

In terms of pricing, the Sonos Play will be available for Rs 35,999 in India, while the pricing and availability for the Beam Ultra and Ace Ultra will be announced at a later date. The new features of Sonos 27, along with the portable surround sound capabilities, will be initiated from September 8, marking an important step in Sonos’s expansion in the Indian market.
