Before he could delve further, Evans playfully nudged him, inquiring about the gift Downey Jr had for him on the 14th anniversary of The Avengers.

Their humorous exchange continued as Evans revealed he had presented his co-star with a signed copy of the Avengers script, while Downey Jr humorously remarked that he had only given Evans a valet receipt.

The duo proceeded to announce the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, which was awarded to Paul Thomas Anderson for his film One Battle After Another. Following this, they introduced the nominees for Best Original Screenplay, which went to Ryan Coogler for Sinners. In a light-hearted moment, Downey Jr showcased a pair of sparkly underwear worn by Channing Tatum in the film Magic Mike, prompting Tatum to jokingly request their return for personal use later.
