Ram Mandir Construction to Be Completed by September 30

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairman, Nripendra Mishra, announced that the construction work at the temple premises is expected to be completed by September 30. During a press conference held on August 20 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, Mishra indicated that both Larsen & Toubro and Tata employees are anticipated to vacate the site by October 30.

Mishra further detailed plans for the auditorium and museum, which are being developed by the State Construction Corporation. He confirmed that while the temple area will be completed by the end of September, the auditorium and museum are targeted for completion by March 2027.

He elaborated on the challenges posed by the museum’s construction, specifically regarding the integration of advanced technology to enhance visitor experience. The concept includes virtually showcasing all temples and structures within the complex, especially in a designated area identified as Gallery 7, and illustrating Lord Ram’s journey through rivers in Gallery 17.

Technological Integration in Museum Development

Mishra stated that experts from IIT Chennai are collaborating on this innovative project, with expectations for the museum to open its doors to devotees by February or March 2027. Besides the primary temple construction, he noted that the boundary wall is scheduled for completion by December, with an additional period of two months allocated for security installations.

Earlier in July, Mishra had highlighted plans for a new gallery specifically designed to exhibit Lord Ram’s journeys through various rivers in India, reinforcing the theme of connectivity between the divine and natural landscapes. Additionally, a section dedicated to the concept of “divine darshan” is also in the works.

Recent meetings, held both at the temple complex and museum, focused on the status of ongoing construction. Mishra emphasised the urgency for Larsen & Toubro and Tata Consulting Engineers to expedite the certification processes, given their two-year defect liability commitments. The discussions included setting a firm completion deadline of August 15 for all work.

Future Developments and Visitor Experience

New decisions were made regarding the immersive technology to be used in creating the galleries. These developments aim to enhance visitor experience, particularly during peak times when the temple sees heavy foot traffic. The immersive exhibit will provide visitors the chance to engage with the content before moving on, featuring a dedicated program for ‘Darshan’ that will transport visitors from the ground floor of the Ram Lalla temple to Kuber Tila.

Mishra explained that the immersive setup is designed to simulate an authentic experience, which will involve advanced filming techniques. He noted that all decisions regarding the project have been formalised, with an anticipated photography phase to commence within two weeks.

In summary, the phases of construction and technological updates within the Ram Mandir premises are progressing as planned, with an overall focus on enhancing the visitor experience. As the completion date approaches, expectations remain high for a successful unveiling of the temple’s various components.
