Actor Ram Charan and his wife, entrepreneur Upasana Konidela, have joyfully announced the names of their newborn twins after a traditional Naamkaran ceremony attended by family and friends.

The couple welcomed the twins on January 31 and marked the occasion with customary rituals rooted in faith, family values and cultural tradition. For the parents, the naming process carried deep emotional and spiritual significance. Charan shared that their parents played an essential role in the naming process, emphasising the cultural importance of seeking the wisdom and blessings of elders in their family.

Names Reflect Faith And Family Legacy

Their son has been named Shivram, a name inspired by Lord Shiva and Lord Rama. Ram Charan explained that the name symbolises strength balanced with compassion and righteousness, while also honouring his father’s birth name, Shiv Shankar Vara Prasad.

Their daughter has been named Anveera Devi, a name representing courage and divine feminine strength. According to Charan, “Veera” signifies bravery, while “An” conveys expansiveness, making the name a reflection of limitless strength. The inclusion of “Devi” underscores grace and spiritual power.

The actor described the naming decision as a deeply personal journey guided by discussions with elders, whose blessings hold special importance in Indian tradition.

Upasana Reflects On Motherhood With Twins

Upasana Konidela shared that embracing motherhood for the second time feels calmer and more grounded compared to her first experience. She said caring for twins alongside their elder daughter Kaara is both demanding and profoundly fulfilling.

She credited Ram Charan for being actively involved in parenting, particularly in ensuring their eldest child feels equally loved and secure during this new phase.

Upasana also noted that she remained professionally active during pregnancy, saying her work provides purpose while her children bring joy, allowing both aspects of her life to grow together.

Ceremony Rooted In Tradition

The Naamkaran ceremony followed traditional customs, reflecting the family’s strong connection to cultural and spiritual practices. In keeping with these traditions, the twins were reportedly delivered in the same room as their elder sister, and their birth timing was chosen according to astrological considerations.
