PAANK Condemns Abdulla Adil’s Enforced Disappearance in Kech, Flags Rights Concerns

The CSR Journal Magazine

PAANK, the human rights organization affiliated with the Baloch National Movement, has issued a strong condemnation regarding the enforced disappearance of Abdulla Adil. Reports indicate that Adil was forcibly taken from his residence located in the Kuddan Dasht area of Kech district, Balochistan, on Sunday. The organization stated on a social media platform that reliable accounts indicate Adil was abducted by individuals believed to be from the Frontier Corps, who were accompanied by other law enforcement personnel. This incident has triggered significant concerns surrounding the ongoing pattern of unlawful detentions and enforced disappearances that persist in the region.

Statement Highlighting Human Rights Violations

In their statement, PAANK stressed that enforced disappearances constitute serious violations of basic human rights and contravene international law. The abduction of Abdulla Adil adds to an increasing list of such incidents in Balochistan, where families endure profound anguish, lacking information about the fate or location of their missing relatives. The organization emphasized the harmful impact of these violations on the community and called for urgent action to address this ongoing crisis.

Previous Case of Sabzal Baloch Underline Concerns

Earlier, PAANK also addressed another troubling case involving the death of an 18-year-old named Sabzal Baloch. It is alleged that he was forcibly disappeared by members of the Frontier Corps in July 2025, with his body found in the Gwadar area on April 1, 2026. The circumstances surrounding his death have raised suspicions of extrajudicial killing. Sabzal Baloch, who came from an economically disadvantaged family, was reportedly abducted from the Talar Check Post, positioned between Gwadar and Turbat, on July 25, 2025.

Extensive Impact of Enforced Disappearances

Following an enforced disappearance lasting over eight months, his body was discovered in the Pelari area of Gwadar. PAANK outlined that the details of his death suggest it could be connected to an extrajudicial execution. The ongoing crisis of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan remains pressing, as families continue their relentless search for missing relatives over the years. Activists have placed the blame on security agencies for these unlawful detentions and staged incidents. Despite numerous protests and appeals made by human rights organizations, accountability remains elusive.

Increasing Tensions in Balochistan

These unresolved cases contribute to a pervasive atmosphere of fear and resentment between the state and the Baloch community. The emotional toll on families, compounded by the lack of answers regarding their loved ones, is profound. The continuous cycle of enforced disappearances not only undermines trust but also escalates tensions within the region. As calls for justice and accountability grow, the situation remains a critical human rights concern that necessitates immediate attention.
