Narco Kingpin Navpreet Singh Deported From Turkey, Sent to 10-Day Police Custody

The CSR Journal Magazine

Alleged international drug trafficking figure Navpreet Singh has been placed in 10 days of police custody following his recent deportation from Turkey. Officials confirmed that he was brought back to India for further questioning by the Delhi Police. Upon his arrival, Singh was presented before the Rouse Avenue Court, where law enforcement sought the custody to facilitate an in-depth investigation.

Details of Police Investigation

The Delhi Police have outlined a plan to transport Singh to multiple states, including Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are particularly keen to interrogate Singh alongside three previously arrested suspects—Ramandeep, Gurpreet, and Gurjot—to clarify their roles within the allegedly extensive drug trafficking network.

Singh had reportedly evaded law enforcement by assuming a false identity while residing abroad. Investigators allege that he was a key handler in an international drug syndicate, believed to be facilitating the trafficking of heroin and methamphetamine from Afghanistan into India. Allegedly operating under the name “Navab Virk,” Singh’s links to the drug network are under scrutiny as officials trace the flow of narcotics across state boundaries.

Prior investigations have also discovered Singh’s connections to a significant drug case in Delhi registered in 2021, where about 355.5 kg of heroin was seized from those related to the syndicate. Court documents have identified Singh as a primary accused in this case, further solidifying his association with the alleged drug trafficking operations.

Expansion of the Investigation

The Delhi High Court has previously flagged Singh as a central figure in the suspected drug syndicate, noting that he was believed to be operating out of Turkey. This has prompted a broader investigation into the overseas drugs network and its ties back to Punjab. Punjab Police have also linked Singh to the same trafficking syndicate that allegedly emanates from Turkey.

The police emphasised the necessity of Singh’s custodial interrogation to uncover specific details about the intricate drug network he is purportedly part of. Investigators intend to explore his movements, connections to other suspects, and the identities he might have used while living abroad. This comprehensive questioning is expected to shed light on the complex supply chain transporting drugs from Afghanistan to various parts of India.

As the investigation develops, further insights into the structure of the alleged drug network and the involvement of other accused individuals are anticipated. Singh faces serious allegations concerning drug trafficking and related criminal activities, which will continue to be examined as the legal proceedings unfold in court.
