In a significant operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, working in conjunction with the 54 Rashtriya Rifles, apprehended a man with connections to Pakistan-based narco-terror activities in the Rajouri district on Thursday. The individual has been identified as Sachin Kumar, known by the alias Pamma, and is a resident of Sehar in Nowshera. Initial investigations indicate that Kumar had direct communication with a trans-border operative involved in narco-terrorism based in Pakistan.
Weapons and Ammunition Recovered
During the operation, security forces seized a variety of firearms from the suspect. This included a Turkish-manufactured Tisas Zigana 9mm pistol along with three magazines, and a Chinese .30 bore TT-30 Norinco pistol accompanied by one magazine. Following the arrest, a case has been registered at the Nowshera police station under relevant legal provisions. The investigation into his activities is still ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge.
Prior Counter-Terror Operations
Earlier on February 4, authorities in Jammu and Kashmir conducted a successful operation that led to the neutralization of two terrorists in the Bansantgarh region of Udhampur. This operation was executed through a coordinated search process in the Jophar area of Ramnagar. Dubbed ‘Operation Kiya’, this effort involved collaboration among the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Coordinated Efforts and Tactical Precision
The White Knight Corps confirmed that this operation was based on specific intelligence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The troops of CIF Delta, under the White Knight Corps, meticulously planned and carried out a targeted counter-terror operation, reinforcing the cordon to prevent any escape attempts by the terrorists. The mission successfully neutralized the terrorists through a combination of seamless coordination among agencies, tactical accuracy, and high professionalism, as outlined in communications from military sources.
Continued Security Operations
The recent arrests and neutralizations underscore the ongoing efforts by Indian security forces to dismantle networks involved in terrorism and narco-trafficking in the region. The collaborations among different branches of the Indian security apparatus are aimed at maintaining stability and safety in Jammu and Kashmir, as they face persistent threats from various terror groups. The situation remains fluid, with authorities closely monitoring developments and executing necessary operations to counteract the imminent threats.
