The CSR Journal Magazine

The Indian Railways has recently unveiled a new Bharat Gaurav tourist train, connecting Indore with Nepal as part of the Pashupatinath Nepal Darshan Yatra package. This unique initiative, organised by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), aims to offer a comprehensive tourism experience rather than standard rail services. The service will commence on June 12 and is intended to provide a hassle-free journey for travellers.

The train journey will span ten days and cover a number of prominent spiritual and tourist attractions in Nepal. Destinations on the itinerary include Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan, appealing to both pilgrims and leisure travellers. The all-inclusive nature of the package aims to make travel seamless by incorporating accommodation, meals, and guided sightseeing into a single offering.

Destinations Covered in the Tour

The Bharat Gaurav tourist train promises to deliver an enriching experience by visiting a variety of renowned sites across Nepal. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore significant locations such as the iconic Pashupatinath Temple, Chitwan National Park, and Manakamana Temple. Additionally, the itinerary features a ropeway ride to Manakamana Temple and a jeep safari through Chitwan National Park, successfully blending spiritual pilgrimage with nature tourism.

The tour has been meticulously designed by IRCTC to ensure that travellers can enjoy both significant religious sites and the breathtaking landscapes of Nepal. This combination of pilgrimage and leisure aims to cater to a diverse audience interested in exploring the cultural heritage and natural beauty of the region.

Boarding Points and Train Facilities

The Deluxe AC tourist train will feature 14 coaches, including categories such as First AC, Second AC, and Third AC, as well as two restaurant coaches for dining during the trip. These onboard facilities are intended to ensure that passengers enjoy comfort and convenience throughout their journey.

Package Pricing and Booking Details

The pricing for the Nepal tour package is structured into three distinct fare categories, allowing travellers to select an option that suits their budget. The Third AC Comfort category is priced at Rs 62,710 per person, while the Second AC Deluxe package costs Rs 76,550. For those opting for a more premium experience, the First AC Superior category is available at Rs 90,400 per passenger.

This package encompasses train travel, accommodation in three-star hotels, vegetarian meals, AC bus transfers for sightseeing, travel insurance, tour escorts, housekeeping, and security services to ensure a comfortable and secure experience for all participants. Interested travellers can make reservations through the official IRCTC tourism website or visit regional offices for assistance.

As an initiative under the Bharat Gaurav train scheme, this new service aims to enhance theme-based tourism both in India and beyond its borders. The Indore-Nepal train service is one of the first tourist trains to operate internationally as part of this initiative, highlighting IRCTC’s commitment to expanding cultural and spiritual tourism across the region.
