Indian Racing Festival 2026 to Conclude with Navi Mumbai Night Race

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Indian Racing Festival (IRF) is making a comeback this year at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC), concluding its 2026 season with a night race in Navi Mumbai. The festival has officially announced its calendar, which includes two rounds at BIC before transitioning to the inaugural Navi Mumbai Street Circuit for the season finale. Scheduled races at BIC will take place on October 31-November 1 and November 28-29, with the final event set for December 5-6.

FIA-Level Racing Returns to Buddh International Circuit

This marks the first time in over a decade that FIA-level racing will be held at the BIC. The venue has a celebrated history, having previously hosted the Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix. The return of the IRF is a significant milestone for the circuit, which has been inactive in terms of international racing for 13 years. The F4 Indian Championship, recognised by the FIA as a single-seater series, allows aspiring drivers to compete on an international platform, while the Indian Racing League showcases both domestic and foreign participants in an inclusive format.

Races at BIC are expected to attract both motorsport enthusiasts and the general public, keen to engage with the exciting atmosphere that FIA events typically deliver. The F4 Indian Championship and the Indian Racing League will be pivotal components of the festival’s offerings, providing a platform for diverse talent in the racing community.

Following the events at BIC, the festival will culminate in Navi Mumbai on a specially designed 3.69 km street circuit. This will be the second night race for the Indian Racing Festival, following a successful debut in Chennai in 2024.

Navi Mumbai to Host Unique Urban Night Race

The finale of the Indian Racing Festival in 2026 promises to showcase a night race on the streets of Navi Mumbai, near Palm Beach Road. This initiative aims to bring the thrill of motorsport into an urban context, departing from traditional racing circuits. The transition to a street environment adds a contemporary touch to the festival, appealing to a broader audience and enhancing the overall appeal of racing events.

The event’s urban setting is anticipated to create a unique atmosphere, distinguishing it from more typical racing experiences. The night race is poised to highlight the capabilities of both drivers and teams, with challenging conditions that will test their skill and strategy.

With the introduction of night races, the Indian Racing Festival enhances its appeal, ensuring a captivating spectacle for spectators. Night races are particularly engaging, as they allow for dramatic visuals and an electrifying ambience that attracts both local and international viewers.

IRF 2026 Season Progress and Upcoming Events

The F4 Indian Championship has already seen its opening rounds at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. Following two rounds, Aris Kyriakou currently leads the championship with 93 points, closely pursued by Luviwe Sambudla from Goa Aces JA Racing, who has 88 points. Kyriakou has achieved two second-place finishes alongside a victory, while Sambudla has secured two wins in Round 2. Bhuvan Bonu from the Hyderabad Blackbirds claimed victory in the remaining race of the second round.

The next round of the championship will occur at the Madras International Circuit in Chennai on October 22-23. This weekend will also mark the Indian Racing League’s debut in the 2026 season, setting the stage for a competitive series of races ahead.

As the Indian Racing Festival gears up for its engaging calendar, it is set to offer an impressive showcase of motorsport, with live broadcasts available on JioHotstar and Star Sports, ensuring accessibility for fans and followers across the nation.
