ICICI Lombard has achieved a Guinness World Records™ title for distributing the most helmets in 12 hours. The company distributed 25,468 helmets on August 10, 2026, across 14 locations in New Delhi as part of its flagship ‘Ride to Safety’ road safety CSR initiative.

The initiative focused on encouraging safer road practices and promoting helmet usage among two-wheeler riders and pillion passengers.

Drive Held Across 14 Locations

The record-setting campaign was conducted across 14 locations, including 13 schools. Helmets were distributed to students and parents as part of the road safety initiative.

A road safety rally was also flagged off by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in the presence of senior ICICI Lombard officials, government representatives and police dignitaries.

Part of Company’s 25th Anniversary

The record drive was organised to commemorate ICICI Lombard’s silver jubilee and forms part of the company’s decade-long efforts to promote responsible road behaviour and greater adoption of protective gear.

The company said its road safety efforts extend beyond awareness and prevention to include collaboration with traffic police, work in high-risk zones and rehabilitation support for accident victims.

Over 7 Lakh Helmets Distributed Since 2015

According to ICICI Lombard, it has distributed more than 7 lakh helmets since 2015 and impacted over 2.5 million people across India through its road safety initiatives.

Sheena Kapoor, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and CSR at ICICI Lombard, described the Guinness recognition as a milestone in the company’s 25-year journey. She said the initiative was aimed not only at achieving a record but also at encouraging safer choices and responsible road behaviour.

Focus on Safer Mobility

The Guinness World Records™ recognition marks another milestone in ICICI Lombard’s road safety efforts. The company said it will continue focusing on community-led interventions aimed at encouraging safer mobility across India.
