‘I Am Completely Depressed’: Tej Pratap Yadav Denies Claims of Fatherhood

The CSR Journal Magazine

Tej Pratap Yadav, senior Bihar politician and national president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, has strongly denied social media claims suggesting that he has become a father, calling the rumours false and emotionally distressing. Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav said the allegations have deeply affected him and described the situation as mentally exhausting.

The controversy erupted after posts circulated online claiming that Yadav had been “blessed with a daughter”, even naming the child. The claims quickly gained traction across platforms, prompting the leader to issue a public clarification and warn of legal action against those spreading misinformation.

‘Baseless and Fabricated Rumours’

Dismissing the viral claims, Yadav said there was “not an iota of truth” in the reports being shared about his personal life. He stressed that the information being circulated was entirely fabricated and accused certain individuals of deliberately attempting to malign his image.

“I am completely depressed by such false claims. If anything of this nature were true, I would have informed people myself,” he said, adding that reckless circulation of personal rumours can have serious mental health consequences.

Yadav also distanced himself from any alleged links with the woman and child mentioned in the posts, stating clearly that he has no connection whatsoever with them. He warned that spreading unverified claims not only harms individuals but also erodes public trust.

Threat of Legal Action

The RJD leader said he is considering legal options against those responsible for initiating and amplifying the rumours. He alleged that a group of people were intentionally targeting him and claimed to have identified those behind the misinformation campaign.

According to Yadav, false narratives are increasingly being used as tools to discredit public figures, especially on social media where rumours spread rapidly without verification. He urged people to rely on official statements rather than online speculation.

The incident highlights the growing challenge faced by politicians in dealing with fake news and personal attacks in the digital age, where private lives often become fodder for viral content.

Political Context and Public Scrutiny

Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of veteran leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, has remained in the public eye for both political and personal reasons. Known for his outspoken nature, he has often attracted attention beyond conventional political discourse.

In recent years, Yadav’s relationship with his party and family has been under scrutiny, with periodic controversies keeping him in headlines. Political observers note that such personal rumours tend to surface more frequently when leaders are already under public glare.

By issuing a strong denial, Yadav appears to be aiming to draw a clear line between verified facts and online speculation, while also sending a message about the emotional cost of unchecked misinformation.

The episode once again underscores the need for responsible sharing of information and the importance of verifying claims before amplifying them, particularly when they concern an individual’s personal life.
