The CSR Journal Magazine

A four-year-old boy in Nagpur, Maharashtra, sustained serious burn injuries after his grandmother reportedly poured boiling water on him during Holi festivities. The incident occurred when the child attempted to playfully splash coloured water on his grandmother, identified as Sindhu Thackeray. CCTV footage captured the moment when, infuriated by the boy’s actions, she allegedly emptied an entire bucket of hot water over him. The video, which has since gained significant attention online, shows the child in distress, writhing in pain.

Following the incident, a woman who was nearby intervened by pouring normal water over the child in an attempt to alleviate his suffering. The child was later taken to a medical facility, where it was reported that he has sustained 45 percent burns primarily affecting his lower body. Medical staff are closely monitoring his condition as he receives necessary treatment for the severe injuries.

Police Action Initiated

Law enforcement authorities have confirmed that they are in the process of filing a formal complaint against Sindhu Thackeray. Investigators are gathering information and evidence related to the incident, which has drawn widespread condemnation from various segments of the community. The outpouring of outrage on social media platforms has intensified calls for accountability and action regarding the grandmother’s actions during the festive occasion.
