The CSR Journal Magazine

A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of March 30 in Faridabad, Haryana, where a 28-year-old food delivery agent was killed in a collision involving a speeding Mercedes car. The victim, Anand Raj Bind, sustained severe injuries in the accident and later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Delhi, as confirmed by police on Tuesday. The collision took place around 2:00 AM near the traffic signal in front of the Fire Brigade Office in Sector 15.

Accident Description

According to police reports, Bind was riding his motorcycle when the luxury vehicle struck him from behind at a high speed. The force of the impact caused both Bind and his motorcycle to be thrown several meters away, leading to critical injuries. The motorcycle was left in a severely damaged state, with visible destruction to the front left section of the car’s bonnet and one of its wheels, indicating a significant collision.

Victim’s Background

Originally hailing from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, Bind had been residing in Faridabad for several years while working as a delivery partner for the online food delivery service Zomato. Following the accident, Bind’s family raised concerns regarding the speed and quality of the medical response he received. Initially transported to a trauma center in Delhi, Bind was reportedly denied admission. His family subsequently rushed him to Safdarjung Hospital, only to find that the CT scan machine was out of service. Eventually, he was admitted to a private facility where he later passed away.

Driver’s Actions and Investigation

The driver of the Mercedes allegedly fled the scene immediately after the crash, abandoning the vehicle. Law enforcement officials have since seized the car, which is registered to a company, and are actively working to identify and apprehend the driver. Inspector Rajvir, the Station House Officer of Central Police Station, Faridabad, stated that investigations have indicated the Mercedes was en route to pick someone up at the airport at the time of the incident. He assured the public that efforts are ongoing to locate the suspect.

Family’s Reaction and Road Safety Concerns

Bind’s brother arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and found him unconscious on the road next to his damaged motorcycle, with the Mercedes parked some distance away. With assistance from bystanders, Bind was transported to a hospital in a private vehicle before being referred to facilities in Delhi. The incident has raised renewed concerns regarding reckless driving and road safety in the region, prompting police to emphasize the importance of ongoing investigations to trace the driver and clarify the events leading up to the tragedy.
