A man has sustained serious injuries after being reportedly run over by an SUV in Faridabad, as he was allegedly perceived as having informed the authorities about the whereabouts of certain suspects. This event transpired on July 2, 2026, and has since led to the arrest of one individual, with police pursuing leads to apprehend other suspects involved in the incident.

According to police accounts, the victim, identified as Shahnaz, was assaulted by the occupants of a black Scorpio vehicle before they allegedly struck him with the SUV while he attempted to escape. This incident reportedly evolved from a police operation in the Dhauj village area, where a team from Yamunanagar was investigating a theft case involving three local residents: Jishan, Nafees, and Aslam.

It has been suggested that upon learning that police were searching for them, these individuals believed Shahnaz had provided the authorities with information about their location. Consequently, the three suspects allegedly targeted Shahnaz in retaliation, following the police team’s departure.

Nature of the Attack

Reports indicate that Shahnaz was engaged in grazing cattle in the fields when he was approached by the accused. Following the physical assault, he attempted to flee, but the suspects pursued him in the SUV and struck him, leading to a severe impact that reportedly trapped him between the vehicle and a nearby wall.

Eyewitness accounts describe the moment of collision, stating that the force of the SUV not only injured Shahnaz but also caused a wall to collapse due to the impact. Emergency services were notified, and Shahnaz was subsequently admitted to the intensive care unit, where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries.

Upon witnessing the incident, local villagers allegedly intervened, apprehending the driver of the vehicle, identified as Tahseem, along with his accomplices. However, the accused managed to escape before law enforcement could fully intervene.

Police Response and Legal Proceedings

In response to the violent incident, the Faridabad police have registered multiple first information reports (FIRs) from both sides of the confrontation at the Sector 56 police station. The police spokesperson confirmed that a case has been filed against Tahseem, who resides in Dhauj village, under various charges, including attempt to murder.

The authorities have also seized the SUV involved in the incident and are currently conducting raids to locate and arrest the other individuals implicated in the attack. The investigation remains active, focusing on the dynamics leading up to the incident and the subsequent altercation.
