Self-styled godman Chaitanyananda, who was arrested on Sunday for allegedly sexually abusing 17 girl students studying at his school, was exposed through his WhatsApp chats. On Wednesday, his chats with girl students came to light. The 62-year-old, trying to set up a girl with a Sheikh of Dubai who was looking for a sex partner, also sent messages with infantilizing words.
What did he write on chats?
In one of the chats he wrote to a girl student, “One Dubai Sheikh wants to [have] a sex partner, do you have any nice friend?”
The victim tried to ignore his messages and wrote, “Koi nahi hai,” to which Chaitanyananda did not stop but kept questioning, “How it’s possible?”, “Your any classmate? Junior?”. While the victim just kept on writing, “I don’t know.” This conversation clearly states that she was getting uncomfortable but the accused didn’t stop.
Another chat that has surfaced shows Chaitanyananda addressing the victim as “Sweetie Baby Daughter Doll,” and sending many such messages late at night.
“Babyyyyy” (7:49 PM), “Baby where are you?” (11:59 PM), “Good Morning Baby” (12:40 PM), “Why are you angry with me?” (12:41 PM).
There is also a chat where he is asking a student to sleep with him.
When and how was he arrested?
Around 3.30 am, Chaitanyananda was arrested from a hotel in Agra’s Taj Ganj area. A case of sexual harassment was filed against him by 17 girl students and he was absconding for almost two months.
The case came to light when a female student of his private institute in Delhi filed an FIR that he forcefully called students to his quarters and also sent explicit messages at odd hours. As per police, he had been changing locations like Vrindavan, Mathura, and Agra, and usually stayed at smaller hotels and used local taxis so that his location went untraced.
Police shared that he checked in at the Agra hotel on September 27 and stayed there in the name of ‘Partha Sarathi.’ Hotel staff confirmed that he did not step out until arrested. Currently, he is in custody and will soon be interrogated along with three women who were his aides.
After being arrested, his assets worth Rs 8 crore have been frozen. His iPad, three mobile phones, fake visiting cards that read ‘Permanent Ambassador’ to the UN Economic and Social Council and a ‘Special Envoy’ for BRICS were also recovered.
Two passports, one with his name Chaitanyananda and another ‘Swami Parth Sarathi,’ both showing different birthplaces and parents’ names, were seized. Police have confirmed that he had withdrawn Rs 50 lakh after the FIR was filed.
