The Central Government has allocated Rs 25 crore to assist in the protection of agricultural crops in Uttarakhand from the threats posed by wild animals. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan confirmed this approval in a letter to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, as stated in a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s office. This funding comes in response to a proposal submitted by the state government seeking financial support for farm fencing as a protective measure against wildlife.

Chief Minister Thanks Ministry for Support

In his communication, Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude to Union Minister Chouhan for the positive response to his request for financial assistance. He described the allocation as a significant move that would relieve farmers from the losses incurred due to wild animal activities and enhance the security of agricultural production in the region. This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards safeguarding the interests of the farming community in Uttarakhand.

Celebration of Government’s Four-Year Milestone

On the same day, Chief Minister Dhami engaged with women, referred to as Matrishakti, at an event held at Parade Ground in Dehradun. This gathering marked the four-year anniversary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state. During this interaction, he discussed topics including the increasing demand for local products, opportunities for self-employment, and initiatives aimed at strengthening the local economy. CM Dhami noted the inspiring hard work and enthusiasm displayed by the women attending the event.

Emphasis on Development and Heritage

As part of the celebration, Chief Minister Dhami reflected on the guiding principles of his administration, emphasizing a focus on both development and heritage. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the statehood activists and serving the needs of the 1.25 crore inhabitants of Uttarakhand. In a post shared on X, he articulated the government’s ongoing efforts to build a strong, prosperous, and self-reliant state, influenced by the ideals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

Furthermore, Dhami highlighted an approach that seeks a balance between economic growth and ecological preservation, underlining a commitment to sustainable development in Uttarakhand, often referred to as Devbhoomi. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of this dual focus through his administration’s constant endeavors to improve the lives of the state’s residents while honoring the rich heritage of the region.
