CBI Registers FIR in Disha Salian Death Case as Per Court Order

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) concerning the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput. This action was prompted by an order from the Bombay High Court, which necessitated a comprehensive investigation into the events leading to her demise.

Disha Salian was discovered deceased on June 8, 2020, a few days before Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. Initially, her death was recorded as an Accidental Death Report (ADR), a classification that has since raised various questions and concerns.

This recent development marks a significant step forward, following criticisms from the Bombay High Court regarding the previous handling of Salian’s case. The court had emphasised the need for the CBI to investigate further in light of allegations from Salian’s family suggesting foul play was involved in her death.

Concerns Raised by the Court

The Bombay High Court had earlier convened a hearing where a Division Bench, consisting of Justice Bharti Dangre and Justice Manjusha Deshpande, expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the only report on record was an ADR. The judges voiced concerns over the lack of investigative measures taken despite serious allegations from the family that suggested murder.

Moreover, the court pointed out that, even after five years since Salian’s death, her family had not received copies of key documents, including the post-mortem report and the ADR. These lapses in providing information have contributed to the family’s ongoing pursuit of justice.

In light of the court’s directive, Salian’s father, Satish Salian, stated that he had shared comprehensive details about the events surrounding his daughter’s death with investigating authorities. He expressed optimism that the investigation would proceed promptly, given the recent instructions from the Bombay High Court.

Family Provides Insights to Investigators

These individuals include public personalities such as Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, and Dino Morea, among others. He noted that investigators were receptive and documented the information he relayed. In his remarks, he emphasised that he relayed the facts of the situation as accurately as possible, which he believes will aid in the investigative process.

Satish Salian reiterated his conviction that truth would ultimately prevail. “The truth cannot be defeated,” he stated, expressing his belief that justice for his daughter would eventually materialise as a result of diligent investigation.

Public Reactions and Support for the Investigation

The ongoing investigation by the CBI has garnered attention from various quarters, including Shweta Singh Kirti, the sister of Sushant Singh Rajput. She has articulated her hopes regarding the inquiry into Disha Salian’s case, viewing it as an opportunity for truth to emerge.

In a social media post, she remarked on the resilience of truth, suggesting that although it may face obstacles, it cannot ultimately be suppressed. Her comments indicate that the CBI’s involvement in Salian’s case has revitalised optimism among supporters of Rajput.

The public’s interest in both cases remains significant, as the intertwined narratives have continued to impact ongoing discussions surrounding justice and accountability in the realm of celebrity affairs in India. The development within the CBI serves as a crucial chapter in these unfolding events.
