Adani Energy bags Rs 2,800 Cr transmission project in Gujarat for manufacturing Green Hydrogen
Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has announced that it has won a power transmission project which will supply green electrons for manufacturing Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia in Mundra, Gujarat. The project costs around Rs 2,800 crore and is expected to be completed within the next 3 years.
This project named “Transmission System for Green Hydrogen/Ammonia Manufacturing Potential in Mundra, Gujarat” involves upgrading the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation by adding two large 765/400kV transformers. Additionally, a 75 km long 765kV double-circuit line will be constructed to connect this substation to the Bhuj substation.
Project details
The project will see the addition of 150cKM of transmission lines and 3,000 MVA of transformation capacity to AESL’s overall transmission infrastructure, taking them to 25,928c KM and 87,186 MVA, respectively.
AESL won the project under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism and PFC Consulting Limited was the bid process coordinator. The project SPV was formally transferred to AESLon March 20, 2025.
India is aiming to produce 5 million tonnes per annum of green hydrogen by 2030 and will need 125 gigawatts of renewable energy for that. The government is targeting at least 500 GW of non-fossil power capacity by 2030, up from 165 GW currently. However, a lack of power transmission infrastructure is leading to delays in setting up renewable energy projects and cancellation of projects.

Adding to the fervor, Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner, Shahrukh Khan, has arrived in the city to cheer for his team. With KKR set to face off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Eden Gardens, cricket enthusiasts are scrambling for tickets, leading to a surge in demand—and an unfortunate rise in black marketing.
Police Crack Down on Ticket Black Market
Amid the cricket frenzy, the Kolkata Police have intensified their efforts to tackle illegal ticket sales. On the eve of the opening match, two individuals were apprehended for selling IPL tickets at inflated prices.
According to the police, a complaint was lodged by Dhiraj Mali (33), a resident of Seth Bagan Lane, Kolkata, who alleged that he was duped after responding to a social media post by one Ashish Sharma, claiming to have match tickets. Mali contacted Sharma and was directed to meet an associate, Piyush Mahendra, at Girish Park. Upon handing over Rs 20,000 in cash, Mali received an envelope containing two Rs 2,000 tickets and two complimentary ones. Realizing he had been deceived, he attempted to reach Sharma, who stopped answering calls.
Based on Mali’s complaint, a case was registered at Girish Park Police Station (Case No-37, Dated: 21.03.25) under the West Bengal Black Marketing Act, 1948. The Anti-Rowdy Section of the Detective Department swiftly acted, leading to the arrest of Piyush Mahendra and his associate Kamal Hussain from Mitra Lane, Kolkata.
