A 22-year-old woman, who is preparing for the Bihar Police constable recruitment examination, has reported being stalked and subsequently attacked with a knife by a man after she declined his advances. The incident took place in Muzaffarpur, where the aspiring police officer has been undertaking regular running exercises as part of her physical training.

On Tuesday, after finishing her run, the woman claimed she was approached by a man identified as Ravi Kumar. He allegedly pressured her to declare her love for him. When she firmly resisted his proposition, he verbally abused her and physically assaulted her.

The woman managed to escape and reach her home, but reportedly, Kumar pursued her and continued his aggressive behaviour. This harassment escalated into a serious attack where he allegedly stabbed her in the head with a knife, resulting in substantial injury.

Response and Medical Assistance

Following the assault, the woman raised an alarm, which attracted the attention of local residents. In reaction to her cries for help, people quickly gathered at the scene, prompting Kumar to flee the area.

The injured woman was subsequently taken to a hospital for urgent medical attention. The nature of her injuries has not been publicly specified, but the attack’s violent nature has raised concerns within the community.

After receiving medical treatment, the woman filed a formal complaint with the authorities. Her complaint outlined the events leading to the attack and included specific allegations against the accused, including threats to harm her family.

Police Investigation Initiated

The police, in response to her complaint, have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Ravi Kumar and have begun a thorough investigation into the incident. Authorities are expected to collect evidence and testimonies from witnesses who were present during the altercation.

In her complaint, the woman additionally accused Kumar of attempted rape, claiming he had previously threatened to kill both her father and brother if she did not comply with his demands. This aspect of the case has heightened the urgency for a comprehensive police response.
