In the wake of the tragic murder of a teenager in Bhopal, authorities are now focusing on recovering the victim’s private parts, which were reportedly severed and disposed of in a pond by the alleged perpetrators. The police have announced plans to deploy underwater divers for an extensive search operation to locate this crucial evidence, which they believe could significantly bolster their case in court.

The search efforts are complicated by the considerable depth of the pond, which is home to various aquatic creatures, and by its overflow connection to a larger water body that spans several kilometres. The challenging environment necessitates careful planning and execution by the police team.

According to police reports, the accused had disclosed during their interrogation that they cut off the victim’s private parts and placed them in a plastic bag after the murder. However, they were unable to find a buyer for these body parts. One of the suspects, identified as Zoheb, returned the bag to co-accused Aamir and a juvenile, asking them to hold it for a few days. Subsequently, unable to sell the severed body parts, Aamir and the minor disposed of them in the pond three days later.

The teenager had been reported missing on August 6. His family undertook a search for him but was unable to locate him. On August 11, a body was discovered in the Chhota Talab area of Bhopal. Following further investigation, the family identified the victim from his belongings on August 14, leading to increased scrutiny of the circumstances surrounding his death.

The investigation gained additional gravitas when initial findings suggested a conspiracy linked to organ trafficking. Police reports indicated that the group allegedly murdered the teenager, mutilated his body, and planned to send a severed body part abroad. Estimates suggest that the victim might have been lured under the false promise of receiving approximately Rs 2 crore, though the precise motives remain under scrutiny.

Efforts to locate the severed body parts have thus far yielded no results, despite multiple searches at various locations. The police teams continue their efforts, placing emphasis on uncovering any potential connections to broader criminal activities.
