Bengaluru Woman Stabbed 17 Times by Lover in Hotel Room, Arrested

A very shocking incident has come to light from Karnataka’s Bengaluru. Here, a 33-year-old woman, identified as Harini, was brutally murdered by her alleged lover. The incident occurred inside an OYO hotel room in Bengaluru’s Poorna Prajna Layout on Sunday.

The woman was allegedly stabbed to death. The reports indicate that she suffered over 17 knife wounds. Harini is a mother of two kids.

Dead body discovered 2 days later

According to reports, the accused Yashas is a 25-year-old techie and a resident of Kengeri. Both the victim and the accused are residents of Kengeri, Bengaluru. The accused is believed to have committed the murder on the night of June 6 in the hotel room.

However, the incident came to light two days later when hotel staff alerted authorities. This comes after the hotel staff discovered the body of the victim and a pool of blood in the room.

Police statement

According to Lokesh Jagalasar, DCP South, Harini and Yashas had known each other for about a year. Over the past two months, Harini, a mother of two, had been gradually distancing herself from Yashas.

“A murder was reported from Subramanyapura Police Station on the intervening night of June 6 and 7. The woman wanted to end the friendship and was trying to distance herself from him. Out of anger and jealousy, the man stabbed the woman to death,” said DCP south, Lokesh B Jagalasar.

Distance leads Murder

Hairini started distancing herself as her family had reportedly learned about the relationship. This caused strain in her personal life, and she had expressed her desire to end their friendship. This attempt to distance herself is believed to have angered and triggered Yashas, leading to the fatal attack. “She was trying to distance herself from him, and that’s what triggered the murder”, said the DCP.

Following the discovery of the body the police registered a murder case at the Subramanyapura Police Station. Initial reports stated a manhunt was underway for Yashas. Soon he was arrested and is currently in court custody.
