A 28-year-old man claiming to be a dance instructor has been arrested in Bengaluru for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl inside his vehicle. The incident occurred on May 24 in the Kadugodi locality.

Police Describes the Crime

According to police, the accused, identified as Bharathi Kannan, approached the girl while she was walking alone and introduced himself as a dance teacher. On the pretext of discussing dance classes, he persuaded her to enter his car. Once she was inside, Kannan allegedly locked the doors and drove a short distance before molesting her.

After the alleged assault, he dropped the girl back at the same location. The minor later narrated the ordeal to her parents, who promptly reported the matter to the police. Kannan was subsequently arrested, and an investigation is currently in progress.

A Similar Incident Occurred a Few Days Ago

This disturbing case comes just days after a similar incident was reported from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a madrasa teacher was arrested for allegedly abusing a 14-year-old boy at a hostel. The teacher, Maulvi Qari Abdul Bari, reportedly called the student to his room late at night and exploited him. When the victim’s family confronted him, the teacher allegedly turned violent. Police later arrested Bari and began probing possible involvement of others associated with him.

Both cases have raised serious concerns over child safety and have prompted demands for stricter oversight of individuals working with minors.
