Mumbai, India: In a deeply moving and heartwarming event at Crossword Bookstore, Kemps Corner, 17-year-old Aman Deepak Patel, who has been bravely battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since the age of 14, launched his debut book, A Man’s Story in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Foundation India. For Aman, this moment was not just about publishing a book, but about realizing a cherished dream: to be an author, to share his truth, and to inspire others facing life-altering challenges.
Aman, currently in Grade 12 and pursuing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at The Cathedral and John Connon School, was diagnosed during the COVID-19 pandemic time of immense uncertainty that reshaped his world. In the midst of intense treatments and long hospital stays, he found refuge and strength in writing. What began as journaling soon evolved into something much larger: A Man’s Story, a raw, honest, and profoundly human account of a young teenager’s fight with cancer, his reflections on life, identity, vulnerability, and hope.
