Ayushmann Khurrana Receives Extortion Call From Alleged Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Member

The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has reportedly received an extortion call from an individual claiming to be affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller allegedly demanded a sum in crores of rupees. In response to this threat, local police are currently working to match the caller’s voice with existing records in their database.

This incident follows a similar occurrence involving actor Tusshar Kapoor, who recently received a threatening audio message from a caller identifying himself as ‘Harry Boxer’. The police have initiated an investigation into both cases, focusing on the credibility of the claims made by the callers.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the Crime Branch’s technical team has analysed the audio recording of the threat call received by Khurrana. They are comparing it with official voice samples of Harry Boxer available in their records. Preliminary findings suggest that the voice samples do not match, raising suspicions that the caller may have misrepresented himself as a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Context of Rising Threats in Bollywood

The recent spate of threats directed at Bollywood actors has heightened concerns within the film industry. This follows a shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff, who was attacked while travelling in his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18. Although Shroff escaped unharmed, his driver and a bystander sustained injuries during the incident.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the shooting, leading to increased scrutiny from law enforcement agencies. Police have identified Anil Pandit, an associate of the incarcerated gangster Bishnoi, as a wanted suspect in connection with the case. To date, 13 individuals, including the alleged shooters, have been arrested, with reports indicating that the shooters had previously scouted the homes of several prominent Bollywood figures, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Akshay Kumar.

In light of these threats, many celebrities are reassessing their security measures. The film industry is witnessing a notable increase in demand for enhanced security protocols, as actors and their teams seek to ensure their safety amid rising concerns.

Increased Security Measures Among Celebrities

Various security personnel associated with celebrity protection have also noted an uptick in the need for enhanced security measures following the recent incidents. Amitabh Bachchan, during his customary Sunday appearance outside his residence, was seen greeting fans from behind a bulletproof glass enclosure, while his son Abhishek Bachchan monitored the security arrangements closely.

Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday celebrations at his residence, Mannat, on November 2, further illustrated the evolving security protocols in place. A significant police presence was observed, with the entire lane outside his home heavily guarded. Initially, fans were not permitted to gather outside the premises. However, Shah Rukh Khan later made a special appearance with his family to greet fans, albeit from a considerable distance, choosing to wave from the terrace instead of engaging closely with the crowd.
