Anshuman Jha Unveils ‘Lakadbaggha 2’ Teaser Poster Ahead of Diwali 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

First Ray Films has revealed the teaser poster for the highly anticipated action thriller, Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business. This announcement coincides with the birthday of actor-director Anshuman Jha, making the occasion doubly significant for both the film’s franchise and its creator.

Focus on Endangered Species

The plot of Lakadbaggha 2 centers around the endangered Celebes crested macaque, a rare primate indigenous to Indonesia, commonly referred to as the North Sulawasi ‘Yaki Monkey’.

Theatrical Release Details

In conjunction with the teaser poster release, the filmmakers have set the global theatrical premiere for Diwali 2026. The sequel is anticipated to be one of the highlights of the festive season’s cinematic offerings, with plans for a prestigious film festival circuit from June to November prior to its worldwide debut.

Continuation of an Inspiring Story

Directed by Anshuman Jha, the film continues the narrative of Arjun Bakshi, a Kolkata-based vigilante passionate about protecting animals from cruelty. This installment sees him venture into the forests of West Java, Indonesia, where he faces the pressing global issue of wildlife trafficking.

Action and Environmental Themes

Lakadbaggha 2 combines intense hand-to-hand combat with a poignant environmental message, building on the themes established in the first film. It introduces audiences to a unique action hero motivated not by revenge, but by compassion and a commitment to wildlife protection.

Diverse Cast and Global Appeal

Alongside Jha, the film features a talented ensemble including Sarah Jane Dias, Adil Hussain, and Vikram Kochhar. Notably, international martial arts star Sunny Pang, recognized for his role in Havoc alongside Tom Hardy, joins a diverse global cast that includes Dan-Chupong, known for his work in Ong-Bak. This reinforces the franchise’s objective to craft an action narrative that transcends geographical boundaries while addressing critical ecological concerns.</
