“A Whole Civilisation Will Die Tonight”: Trump Claims “Total Regime Change” in Iran

The CSR Journal Magazine

As the deadline for possible military action against Iran nears, U.S. President Donald Trump has made a series of alarming statements regarding the situation in Tehran. Utilizing his Truth Social platform, Trump warned of catastrophic consequences while hinting at a possible regime change within the Iranian government. He stated, “A whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again,” indicating the gravity of the current military standoff. His comments are set against reports of U.S. strikes targeting strategic locations, including Kharg Island.

Possibility of Political Change in Iran

Despite his ominous warnings, Trump suggested that a significant political shift could be occurring within Iran. He remarked, “now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalised minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen.” The President characterized the current crisis as the culmination of decades of tension between the United States and Iran, asserting, “We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World.” He emphasized that 47 years of issues stemming from “extortion, corruption, and death will finally end.”

Support for the Iranian People

Trump concluded his message by expressing his support for the people of Iran, stating, “God Bless the Great People of Iran!” His rhetoric aligns with the looming deadline for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He has made it clear that failure to comply will trigger significant bombing campaigns against essential Iranian infrastructure, including electric generating facilities and bridges.

Specific Threats from the U.S. Administration

Further escalating his threats, Trump declared that the objective would be to render these critical facilities “burning, exploding, and never to be used again” within a four-hour timeframe. In a press briefing at the White House, he asserted, “The entire country could be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night.” Trump characterized this situation as a “critical period,” noting that Washington has allowed Tehran sufficient time to negotiate an agreement to alleviate hostilities.

Final Ultimatum Issued

While Iranian officials sought a seven-day extension for negotiations, Trump granted a total of ten days. “They have till tomorrow. Now we will see what happens… A lot of people are affected by this,” he stated. The deadline is set for 8:00 PM Eastern Time, after which Trump indicated that, should Iran fail to comply, “they are going to have no bridges. They are going to have no power plants. Stone ages.” With this ultimatum, he reinforced that this represents a last chance for Tehran to avert a complete collapse of its infrastructure.
