Viksit UP @2047’: Yogi Govt Unveils Roadmap to Make Uttar Pradesh a Global Agricultural Powerhouse

The CSR Journal Magazine

State sets sights on leading India in crop productivity by 2030 and joining global leaders by 2047

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched an ambitious vision to transform Uttar Pradesh into a global leader in agriculture under the banner of ‘Viksit UP @2047’. The plan focuses on making UP the top state in crop productivity and agricultural exports by 2030, with a long-term goal of positioning the state alongside global agricultural giants like the USA, France, China, and Australia by 2047.

A New Era of Agricultural Growth

Under this vision, the Yogi government aims to integrate innovation, sustainability, and scientific advancements into every level of agriculture. A detailed roadmap has been laid out focusing on six key pillars: storage and value addition, processing infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, research and education, crop diversification, and modern technology adoption.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the convergence of agriculture and industry is crucial for making UP the growth engine of a Viksit Bharat. This integrated approach will not only boost farm incomes but also establish UP as a global benchmark in agri-development.

Transformative Targets for 2030 and Beyond

By 2030, UP aims to:

  1. Lead India in crop productivity

  2. Secure the top spot in agricultural exports

  3. Become a hub for agri-innovation and education

  4. By 2047, the goal is to match or surpass nations such as Mexico, China, and Russia in agricultural advancement.

  5. Infrastructure to Empower Farmers

The state is rapidly expanding its network of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), and mega food parks. Massive investments are being made in cold chain systems, storage facilities, and food processing units to reduce post-harvest losses and add value to produce.

A Journey of Transformation

Before 2017, UP’s agriculture sector faced challenges including low productivity, poor storage, and negligible use of technology. Over the past eight and a half years, the Yogi government has ushered in a turn-around, introducing scientific methods, strengthening mandis, and connecting farmers to modern agri-infrastructure.

With this comprehensive strategy, Uttar Pradesh is not only ensuring kisan kalyan (farmer welfare) but also building a model of sustainable, technologically empowered, and export-oriented agriculture.
