‘Uttar Pradesh to Lead Deep Tech Revolution’: CM Yogi at IIT Kanpur Event

The CSR Journal Magazine

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced an ambitious vision to make Uttar Pradesh the epicenter of India’s deep-tech revolution. Speaking at the “Samanvay” industry-academia meet at IIT Kanpur, the CM declared that IIT Kanpur will serve as the country’s primary hub for deep-tech innovation.

Highlighting the importance of deep technology in shaping the future, the Chief Minister called for a national-level Deep Tech Summit that would chart the course for India’s technological roadmap through initiatives like Deep Tech Bharat 2025. He emphasized that the summit must be “impressive” and act as a launching pad for innovation, global collaboration, and startup acceleration.

Focus on Youth, Startups, and Global Competitiveness

CM Yogi underlined the potential of deep tech to prepare India’s youth for global technological competition. He said the initiative would not only empower startups and entrepreneurs but also position Uttar Pradesh as a national technology leader. “We want to alleviate the fears of the youth and equip them to face future challenges,” he said.

The CM announced that land had already been allocated in Gautam Buddha Nagar for infrastructure supporting deep-tech research, innovation, and enterprise development. The initiative is expected to foster growth in areas such as quantum computing, semiconductors, AI, biosciences, space technology, and more.

Collaboration with DRDO, ISRO, and Central Agencies

Yogi Adityanath also proposed collaborations with central scientific institutions like DRDO and ISRO, suggesting that their expertise could accelerate Uttar Pradesh’s transformation into a tech powerhouse. He mentioned that state-level efforts would be aligned with national missions such as Deep Tech Policy 2035, and also seek support from MEITY, DAC, and other agencies.

IIT Kanpur, already renowned for technological research, will play a critical role in anchoring the initiative. The CM urged the institution to take the lead in establishing UP as a Tier-2 city innovation model, expanding the reach of deep-tech benefits beyond metro regions.
