A 15-year-old boy was reportedly killed by his father in Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, after being tied to a pillar over a disagreement involving stolen money. This tragic event occurred on September 21 in the village of Purva Somvanshi. According to police, the accused, Ummed Singh, left the scene after the incident, placing the boy’s body on a cot.

The situation escalated when Ummed Singh allegedly became enraged after receiving complaints about his son Rishu, also known as Ishu. At the time, the boy’s elder siblings were attending a local Ganesh Puja and kirtan ceremony, while Rishu and his younger sister remained at home. Upon his return, Ummed Singh confronted Rishu before tying him to a pillar using a rope.

Witnesses reportedly stated that Ummed Singh was under the influence of alcohol during the act of violence. Following the attack, the father fled the house, leaving Rishu’s body behind. Authorities were alerted to the incident shortly after, leading to police intervention and an investigation.

Police Response and Investigation

Police received information regarding the incident soon after it occurred. They took custody of Rishu’s body, which was subsequently examined during the inquest process. Following this, a post-mortem examination was arranged to ascertain the exact cause of death. The elder brother of Rishu, Neeraj, registered a complaint with the local police, prompting a formal investigation into the case.

Based on the complaint filed by Neeraj, officials from Sahar police station initiated legal proceedings against Ummed Singh. Teams were formed specifically to locate and apprehend him. Law enforcement agencies worked quickly, and on September 24, Ummed Singh was taken into custody.

During police questioning, Ummed Singh reportedly admitted to his actions, indicating that Rishu had often engaged in disputes over money issues. He confessed that on the night of September 21, he had tied his son and subsequently struck him with a bamboo stick, leading to the boy’s death. Evidence, including the rope and bamboo stick allegedly used in the assault, was recovered at his direction.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Ummed Singh is currently facing serious charges as the investigation continues. After his arrest, he was presented before the local judicial authorities and subsequently remanded to jail. The case has garnered considerable attention locally, prompting discussions around domestic violence and the responsibilities of guardians in difficult familial situations.

Authorities are ensuring that all legal protocols are followed in the investigation, including the thorough examination of evidence gathered at the scene. The tragic death of Rishu has raised concerns over child safety and parental responsibility within households.
