The Nudge Foundation and Godrej Saloni Announce Multi-year Partnership
Godrej Saloni, a wp initiative of Godrej partners with The Nudge Foundation, which will focus on imparting life-skills and beautician training at residential Gurukuls across India. The residential Gurukuls will have beneficiaries for a stay period of 4-5 months where life-skills, literacy as well as livelihoods to the poor will be worked on in an integrated fashion. A strong 360-degree life, learning and economic foundation for the poor will be provided along with lifelong support system.
The/Nudge Foundation focuses on sustainable poverty alleviation on a large scale. Both the partners have individually set for themselves the goal of pulling 1 million people out of poverty by developing employability, by the year 2020.
Nandan Nilekani, former CEO of Infosys and erstwhile Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India, recently donated $200K (approx 1.3cr) to The/Nudge Foundation.
On speaking to Atul Satija, Founder & CEO, The/Nudge Foundation, says, “I come from a lower middle class family and grew up in a sensitive household. I could feel it in me to find the right platform and give back to society. One learns along the way, I’m itchy to do it. That is wp to me. We will learn what the right way is, and will to approach people to invest too. ”
The/Nudge Foundation is a collective initiative of some of India’s leaders and entrepreneurs, which also has Neeraj Arora, Vice President, WhatsApp Messenger on its board.
