Tragedy struck the family of a 21-year-old Indian medical student studying in Vietnam after he died in a high-speed motorcycle accident in Can Tho City. The victim, Arshid Ashrith, was a third-year MBBS student originally from Telangana’s Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district.

Ashrith, who had moved to Vietnam three years ago to pursue his medical education, was riding a 150cc motorcycle with a friend on Tuesday morning when the accident occurred. According to local reports, the two were traveling at a high speed when Ashrith lost control of the vehicle. The motorbike slammed into the wall of a house, flinging both riders violently from the bike. While Ashrith died on the spot due to the severe impact, his friend suffered serious injuries and was hospitalised.

CCTV footage of the incident, now circulating on social media, shows the motorcycle speeding down a wet road lined with parked vehicles before it crashes forcefully into the wall. The bike can be seen continuing to skid for several meters after impact.

Parents in Deep Sorrow After Hearing the News

Ashrith was the son of Arshid Arjun and Pratima, cloth merchants residing in Kagaznagar town. News of the young student’s sudden death has left his family and local community in deep sorrow. Overwhelmed by grief, his parents have been receiving support from local leaders and residents.

Responding to the incident, Telangana MLA Dr. P Harish Babu visited the bereaved family to offer his condolences. The legislator also contacted Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, urging immediate assistance in repatriating Ashrith’s body to India for last rites.

Officials have not released further details on the injured passenger’s condition. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to expedite the necessary formalities and ensure the student’s remains are returned to his family at the earliest.

The incident has sparked concern among the Indian student community in Vietnam, especially regarding road safety and accident response mechanisms for international students.
