Teacher Arrested in Maharashtra for Allegedly Assaulting 32 Hostel Students Over Motorcycle Damage

A teacher from Latur district, Maharashtra, has been apprehended for allegedly assaulting 32 students over suspicions regarding damage to his motorcycle. Police officials reported the incident, which took place at a school hostel for students in classes 5 to 10 near Ahmedpur, on the night of February 21.

Accused Teacher Identified and His Actions Described

The individual, identified as Ujjwal Prakash Soni, reportedly reacted aggressively after suspecting that students were responsible for damaging his vehicle. It is alleged that he used a bamboo stick to strike multiple minors and also threatened them, asserting he would soon become the school principal and take further action against them.

Principal Files Complaint With Authorities

Zeba Nadar, the principal of Christ International School, filed a formal complaint at the Ahmedpur Police Station regarding the incident. The police took action based on her complaint and proceeded to arrest Soni, charging him under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
