Hoax Bomb Threats Sent to Multiple CRPF Schools Across Country

The CSR Journal Magazine

Multiple Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) schools across India received hoax bomb threats. The affected institutions include two schools located in Delhi, one in Rohini and another in Dwarka, as well as a school in Hyderabad. Reports indicate that these threats were communicated via email to the management of the respective schools.

Authorities are currently investigating the situation, with oversight from senior officials from various organisations, including the CRPF, the Intelligence Bureau, and the Delhi Police. The email threat mentioned a potential bomb explosion in the classrooms, but it has since been confirmed as a hoax.

Context of the Threats

The hoax threats emerged just a day after an actual explosion occurred outside a CRPF school in Rohini, Delhi. This blast, which was reportedly claimed by a pro-Khalistani group, caused significant alarm in the national capital. The explosion was powerful enough to damage the school’s wall, although no injuries were reported. Nearby buildings and vehicles did sustain some damage from the blast.

In response to the previous incident, the Delhi Police have reached out to various social media platforms and the messaging application Telegram to gather information about the channel where the earlier post was made. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the details surrounding both the explosion and the subsequent hoax threats.

In recent days, there has been a noticeable increase in hoax bomb threats targeting both domestic and international flights. Over the past week, more than ninety flights have reportedly received bomb threats, most of which have been verified as false alarms. This trend has raised concerns among security agencies and aviation authorities.

Security Measures and Responses

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General RS Bhatti and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) Director General Zulfiqar Hasan met with Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan to discuss the recent spate of hoax bomb threats affecting flights. During this nearly half-hour meeting, the officials briefed the Home Secretary on the implications of these threats for aviation security.

The discussions highlighted the need for enhanced vigilance and coordination among various security agencies to address the ongoing situation. The officials acknowledged that the hoax threats have created panic among passengers and have necessitated rigorous security checks across the Indian aviation sector.

As investigations continue, authorities are working to implement measures that will mitigate the impact of such threats on public safety and security. The focus remains on ensuring that both educational institutions and the aviation sector are adequately protected against potential risks.
