‘Stripped, Burnt, Petrol on Private Parts’: 4 Minors Assaulted and Held Hostage in Gurugram

The CSR Journal Magazine

Four minor boys were reportedly assaulted and held hostage by a group of men in Gurugram, Haryana. The incident occurred at an under-construction building where the children had allegedly entered. Following the complaint, two individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, police said.

It is being said that when the children were taken as hostages, they were allegedly stripped too, and the men burned the children with hot spoons. They also allegedly poured petrol on children’s private parts, according to a PTI report.

Incident Took Place at an Under-Construction Site

The case came to light after the minors were allegedly confined and physically assaulted by the group. The accused claimed to have suspected the children of attempting theft at the under-construction property. According to officials, the boys had entered the building, after which the group detained and beat them up. The children were later released and their families contacted the authorities.

Police Investigate Motive and Circumstances

Following the registration of a formal complaint, law enforcement began an investigation into the circumstances of the assault. The arrested suspects reportedly told officials that they believed the minors had entered the site to steal construction materials. Acting on this suspicion, they took the matter into their own hands by detaining and attacking the boys, rather than informing the police.

Legal Action Initiated Against the Accused

The two individuals taken into custody have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to wrongful confinement and assault. Authorities are also examining whether the actions of the accused fall under offences related to unlawful detention of minors. The role of others involved in the group is currently under scrutiny, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Children Medically Examined, Counselling Offered

After the attack, the four boys were subjected to medical examinations to assess any physical injuries. Preliminary reports indicated visible signs of assault, and further evaluation is being carried out. District child welfare and protection officials have been informed, and psychological counselling has been arranged for the children.

Authorities Emphasise Legal Protocols

Officials stated that while property owners have the right to report any suspicious activity, any form of physical assault or illegal detention, particularly involving minors, is a punishable offence. Police reiterated that suspicions of theft should be reported to law enforcement rather than being addressed through vigilante actions by individuals or groups.

Search Continues for Other Involved Individuals

Police teams are working to identify and trace the remaining individuals who were present during the incident. Statements from the victims, their families, and local residents are being recorded to establish the sequence of events. Law enforcement has confirmed that additional arrests may be made as evidence is gathered and verified.
