The owner of the building that collapsed in Satya Niketan, New Delhi, has been detained in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. The Delhi Police had issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) for him after he became untraceable after the incident.

He suggested the establishment of a financial allocation for the construction of public hostels specifically for students at the University of Delhi.

Jha’s proposal includes identifying public land owned by the Union Government for the construction of these hostels, emphasising the importance of safe housing for students.
