The Telangana Commissioner’s Task Force, alongside the Golconda team and Masabtank Police, dismantled an illegal dairy manufacturing operation in Hyderabad, apprehending an individual accused of producing adulterated ghee. The operation led to the seizure of goods valued at Rs 18.26 lakh, authorities disclosed on Thursday.

According to an official announcement by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ande Srinivasa Rao, the task force executed a raid at a dairy facility named “Pride Dairy” situated in Bholanagar, Banjara Hills, Road No. 12. The arrested individual, identified as 26-year-old Mohammed Junaid Hussain, is a businessman residing in Bhola Nagar, Hyderabad.

Findings During the Raid

During the operation, law enforcement officials confiscated significant quantities of adulterated dairy products along with manufacturing equipment. Items seized included 460 kilograms of adulterated ghee, 70 kilograms of mixed adulterated ghee, 2,090 kilograms of adulterated cow cream, and 1,170 kilograms of adulterated buffalo cream. The accused used 28 tins of Ruchi Gold Vanaspati and a number of used oil packets and empty tins to facilitate the adulteration process.

The raid also resulted in the confiscation of essential machinery, which comprised two boilers, a pushing machine, a packing machine, and both small and large weighing machines. Additional items seized included four gas cylinders, 70 basins of various sizes (some containing ghee), 25 empty drums, and packing materials. The total worth of all confiscated items was calculated to be Rs 18,26,679.

Health Risks and Legal Action

According to police reports, the accused was engaged in the illegal manufacturing of adulterated ghee using cow and buffalo cream, mixing palm oil, vanaspati, and other substandard substances into the dairy products. Despite holding a valid license, these adulterated goods were marketed as genuine and pure ghee to the public, restaurants, and event organizers, thereby posing a significant risk to public health.

A case has been registered at Masabtank Police Station under Crime Number 50/2026, invoking Sections 318(4) and 274, 275 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the arrested individual. The raid was carried out under the supervision of Additional DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao and involved close coordination with Inspector R Venkatesh from the Golconda Zone Task Force, Inspector A Praveen Kumar from Masabtank, Sub-Inspector G Vijayanand, and Sub-Inspector G Chandana, among their respective officers.
