Nora Fatehi Faces Rs 3-Crore Defamation Lawsuit from Dunes Aviation

The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Nora Fatehi is currently dealing with a civil defamation lawsuit amounting to Rs 3 crore, lodged by Dunes Aviation in a Gandhinagar court. The legal action stems from her purportedly “derogatory and reckless” remarks made on social media regarding one of the company’s chartered aircraft. According to reports, the case will be reviewed by senior civil judge R Agarwal on September 25, 2026.

Details of the Allegations

The lawsuit claims that Fatehi described the aircraft as a “Lego airplane” during her social media posts while travelling from Mumbai to Jaipur in December last year. In videos uploaded on her Instagram account, she referred to the Cessna Citation CJ2 as a “miniature” and a “toy,” terms that Dunes Aviation argues unfairly damaged its reputation.

Dunes Aviation alleges that these statements, made by Fatehi, who has a substantial following of over 4.6 crore, resulted in a significant decline in bookings and an increase in cancellations. According to the company, bookings plummeted by 15 to 20 per cent following the controversy attributed to her remarks.

The aviation company further contends that Fatehi’s comments were “reckless, irresponsible, and made without any technical knowledge or verification.” They claim such statements have not only harmed their reputation but have also led to a loss of goodwill and commercial impact.

Company’s Position on the Aircraft

Dunes Aviation maintains that the aircraft in question is fully compliant with all legal and safety regulations, emphasising that it is DGCA-certified and in a condition suitable for the journey undertaken. The company insists that the remarks made by the actor are baseless and contribute to misleading public perceptions.

In addition to seeking monetary damages, Dunes Aviation is requesting the court to mandate the immediate removal of all social media content featuring Fatehi’s statements about the aircraft. They also seek a public clarification from the actor to rectify the situation.

The continuation of this legal dispute highlights the implications of social media influence, particularly how public figures’ statements can substantially impact businesses and their operations. As the court date approaches, the actor and the aviation company prepare for a legal battle that could have broader ramifications for celebrity endorsements and public relations in the digital age.
