Influencer and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has reacted to the comments made by comedian Samay Raina during the Still Alive comedy special. The remarks have garnered considerable attention on social media, especially after Raina’s criticisms of Ranveer concerning the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent.

During the special, Samay disclosed that Ranveer had posed an inappropriate question multiple times throughout the show, although only one instance made it into the final edit. This detail sparked conversations about the content of the programme and the nature of the questions asked.

Ranveer’s Light-Hearted Remarks

In a recent interaction captured on video by paparazzo Shailesh Pandey, Ranveer seemed in good spirits when responding to inquiries about Raina. He quipped, “Samay kaun Samay? Kya Samay?” which translates to “Samay? Who Samay? What Samay?,” further adding that it was his time to shine.

In another segment, while addressing the jokes made at his expense, Ranveer maintained a light-hearted tone. He mentioned, “I can certainly hear the compliments. Praise always finds its way to me. The more positivity you harbour within yourself, the more you attract. I am also quite playful and possess a good sense of humour. One should always keep smiling.”

Background of the Controversy

The controversy surrounding Ranveer originated in 2025 during an episode of India’s Got Latent. He posed a question that many found offensive: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” Although the show’s panel laughed at the query, it led to significant backlash from viewers.

This incident was not taken lightly, as FIRs were filed against Ranveer and the show’s producers, resulting in death threats and calls for online cancellation. Amidst the uproar, the National Commission for Women intervened, prompting Ranveer to issue a written apology. The Supreme Court subsequently granted him interim protection, while also condemning his comments as “vulgar” and criticising his “dirty mind,” which they claimed had brought shame to society.

Raina has clarified his editing decisions related to the controversial episode, stating, “I swear on my mother, I’m telling you the truth. In that episode, Beer Biceps asked that specific question eight times. And on top of that, he asked a whole bunch of other bizarre, nonsensical questions as well.” He noted that he eventually decided to remove a substantial portion of the inappropriate content from the final edit.

In a significant move, Raina mentioned that he eliminated approximately 99 per cent of the inappropriate remarks made during the episode. This decision underscores the impact of public response to such controversies and highlights the necessity for content creators to exercise discretion in their work.
