Namo Book Festival in Varanasi Celebrates PM Modi’s 25 Years in Public Service

The Namo Book Festival, titled Kashi Edition, is being held in Varanasi at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre on October 7 and 8. This two-day event commemorates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in government service, a tenure marked first by his role as Chief Minister of Gujarat followed by his ongoing position as Prime Minister.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh attended the festival and emphasised its significance, noting that Modi’s time in office is marked by a continuous service of over 25 years. Singh highlighted that Modi served as Gujarat’s Chief Minister for more than 12 years before becoming Prime Minister.

Furthermore, Singh underscored the rarity of such an uninterrupted duration in leadership within a democratic framework, stating that it is an unparalleled achievement in global governance.

The Namo Book Festival features a diverse collection of over 500 books that delve into multiple aspects of Prime Minister Modi’s life and policies. Singh remarked on the considerable global interest in Modi’s multifaceted persona, particularly over the last decade.

The collection includes works focused on Modi’s political journey, governance reforms, and his administration’s approaches to children’s welfare, foreign policy, counter-terrorism, and defence. Singh described the festival as a showcase of literature encompassing Modi’s entire public life.

In addition, Singh mentioned that the books highlight ongoing discussions around the government’s vision for a developed India by 2047, linking it to Modi’s long-term objectives and reforms in various sectors.
