Kanpur Resident Bites Society Secretary’s Nose in Shocking Parking Dispute

In a bizarre and disturbing turn of events, a routine parking disagreement at a residential complex in Kanpur escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in a man allegedly biting the nose of the society secretary. The incident occurred on Sunday evening at Ratan Planet Apartment, located in the Naramau area of the city.

The altercation involved 65-year-old Rupendra Singh Yadav, a retired engineer who now serves as the society’s secretary, and Kshitij Mishra, a fellow resident of the complex. The dramatic episode was captured on CCTV cameras and has since gone viral on social media platforms.

According to the complaint filed by Yadav’s family, the chain of events began when Mishra found a vehicle parked in what he claimed was his designated parking space. He first approached the building’s security guard for help but soon after insisted that the society secretary himself come down to deal with the situation.

Matter Escalated Rigorously

Despite suggesting that the guard manage the issue, Yadav eventually went to the parking lot to mediate the matter directly. What followed was an unexpected and violent escalation. CCTV footage shows Mishra striking Yadav across the face and then grabbing him by the neck. In a shocking moment caught clearly on video, he allegedly bit Yadav’s nose.

The footage, which has since gone viral, shows Yadav stumbling away, visibly bleeding, with his shirt soaked in blood. His children, upon being alerted, rushed him to a nearby private hospital where he received immediate treatment for the facial injuries. The traumatic nature of the attack has shocked residents and the broader online public.

Speaking to the media, Priyanka, Yadav’s daughter, recounted the ordeal and expressed disbelief at the aggression. “My father simply went to resolve a small issue, and this man assaulted him in such a horrific manner,” she said.

FIR has been Lodged

A formal First Information Report (FIR) was filed at Bithoor police station by Yadav’s son, Prashant. Police officials have launched an investigation into the incident. Kalyanpur Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abhishek Pandey confirmed that legal proceedings are underway and added that both parties had undergone medical evaluation.

“The accused is also currently admitted to the hospital. Once his condition stabilises, legal action will follow,” said ACP Pandey. The authorities are analysing the CCTV footage as part of their inquiry and collecting testimonies from other residents who may have witnessed the altercation.

This incident has sparked intense discussion among local residents, not just because of the violent nature of the act but also due to the breakdown in community behaviour and conflict resolution in shared living spaces. Residents at Ratan Planet Apartment are reportedly shocked by the gruesome nature of the dispute, with many calling for stricter enforcement of behavior codes within the society.

Local Residents Shows Tension About Personal Safety

Some residents have expressed concerns about personal safety, stating that such extreme reactions over mundane issues like parking reflect a deeper problem of aggression and lack of tolerance in urban residential settings.

The video’s virality has also reignited discussions online about mental health, anger management, and the need for robust systems within housing societies to handle disputes peacefully. Legal experts have suggested that if proven, the act of biting could be categorized under serious assault, potentially invoking harsher penal provisions.

As of now, Mishra remains under medical supervision, and the police are awaiting his discharge to proceed with formal questioning and possible arrest. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected in the coming days.
