Kanpur Horror: Woman Beats & Bites Off Husband’s Ear During Heated Fight in UP Home

The CSR Journal Magazine

In a disturbing case of domestic violence, a man in Kanpur’s Barra area sustained severe injuries after his wife allegedly bit off his right ear during a heated argument at their home. The incident occurred on the night of Monday, September 22.

Husband Alleges Assault While Sleeping

According to the victim, Amit Sonkar, the altercation began while he was resting on a sofa. He claimed his wife, Sarika, suddenly began arguing over household matters, which escalated into physical violence.

“She bit off my ear with her teeth. She doesn’t want to live with me. She’s pressuring me to leave her once she gets the money and a house. But we’re poor people, selling vegetables in the market. Where can we get that much money?” Amit Sonkar, the husband, said.

“On Monday, cleaning was going on in the house. She got agitated, started fighting with me while I was sleeping on the sofa. I pushed her to protect myself, then got beaten up. After that, she was standing on the bed, I was standing below, and she bit my ear with her teeth,” he added.

He further alleged that Sarika also attacked him with a sharp object during the assault. Sonkar was later seen with a heavily bandaged right ear and sought medical attention due to excessive bleeding.

Couple Already in Divorce Proceedings

The couple had married eight years ago after a love affair. However, their relationship reportedly deteriorated over the years. A divorce case is already pending in court. Amit stated that Sarika has been pressuring him to separate only after she receives a house and money, despite their modest means. The two make a living selling vegetables in the local market.

Counter-Allegations Filed

Following the incident, Amit filed a formal complaint with the local police, stating he no longer wishes to live with his wife. In response, Sarika lodged a counter-complaint, accusing her husband of domestic violence.

“The husband and wife were already engaged in a divorce case, and this dispute led to a physical altercation. Police have filed a case against Sarika, the wife, and Amit, based on Sarika’s complaint, and the matter is under investigation,” said a senior police officer.

Tensions Rise in Uttar Pradesh

This incident adds to a series of recent domestic violence cases reported from Uttar Pradesh. In a separate case in Lucknow, a man was killed over a suspected love affair by the girl’s family. Authorities deployed extra police force to prevent any unrest in the area.

The Kanpur case highlights growing concerns around domestic disputes turning violent, particularly in relationships already strained by legal and financial stress.
