Rapper Badshah (real name Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodiya) has stirred controversy after posting on social platform X (formerly Twitter), “I’d rather make babies with Dua Lipa,” referring to the Levitating singer. The remark sparked widespread backlash, with netizens branding it “creepy,” “cheap,” and “misogynistic.”

Adding fuel to the fire, fellow rapper Honey Singh took a jab at Badshah by commenting “Genius” with laughing and clapping emojis — a remark many interpreted as sarcasm. One user replied, “Paaji using sarcasm,” indicating Singh’s comment wasn’t genuine praise.

Attempting damage control, Badshah defended his statement, saying, “I think one of the most beautiful compliments you can give a woman you really admire is to wish for her to mother your children. Meri soch nahi, tumhari soch saamne aayi hai” (Translation: “Not my thinking, your mindset is what’s showing”).

Despite the explanation, criticism continued, with many calling the statement tone-deaf and inappropriate.

Honey Singh vs. Badshah

Both artists were once part of the rap collective ‘Mafia Mundeer’, which included Ikka, Lil Golu, and Raftaar. The group eventually split due to creative differences, and Singh and Badshah have frequently taken indirect digs at each other on social media.

Although Badshah once publicly said he had moved past his grudge — even wishing Honey Singh well during a concert in Dehradun — the recent exchange hints at unresolved tensions. During his Millionaire Tour, Honey Singh had previously taken another indirect swipe at Badshah, indicating that the rivalry might still be simmering beneath the surface.
