Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’ Dharmendra was recently discharged from the hospital, and he is currently at home recovering. After the news of his discharge came, all rumours of his death were put to rest. Now, fresh information from a family insider suggests that he is improving, and as he turns 90 next month, the family is planning a special celebration for his and his daughter Esha Deol’s birthdays.
A family insider said, “If God wills, we’ll be celebrating two birthdays next month — Dharamji’s and Esha’s.” Dharmendra will turn 90 on December 8, while his daughter Esha Deol, whose birthday was on November 2, will celebrate her birthday with her father.
What happened to Dharmendra?
Due to a sudden decline in health, Dharmendra was hospitalised. While he was under medical supervision, several false rumours about his death began circulating. To put these rumours to rest, actor-turned-politicians Hema Malini and Esha Deol released a statement on November 11 clarifying that Dharmendra was very much alive and recovering.
Dharmendra was discharged on November 12 at around 7:30 am. After his discharge, the Deol family issued a formal note requesting privacy. Their statement read:
“Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

A video of Dharmendra lying unconscious on a hospital bed, with his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol standing close by, went viral. Another video showing Sunny’s sons — Karan and Rajveer — and Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, sitting beside him also circulated widely. These emotional clips prompted fans to pray for his speedy recovery.
