The CSR Journal Magazine

A shocking case of sexual assault has emerged from the national capital, where an 18-year-old MBBS student has accused a 20-year-old fellow medical student of drugging, raping, and blackmailing her at a hotel in Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area. The incident allegedly occurred on September 9 at Hotel Apple but was reported only recently when the victim filed a complaint.

Accused Used Friendship to Lure Victim

According to the complaint filed with the police, the accused, identified as Amanpreet, invited the woman to the hotel under the pretense of friendship. The victim, a resident of Jind in Haryana, currently stays in the hostel of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College in Rohini, Delhi. She claims the accused is also a fellow medical student.

Drugged and Assaulted in Hotel Room

Once inside the hotel, the accused allegedly offered her a drink containing intoxicating substances. The woman said she lost consciousness, after which the accused sexually assaulted her. Disturbingly, she also alleged that Amanpreet took obscene photographs and recorded videos of the act without her consent.

Blackmail and Continuous Threats Alleged

Following the assault, the woman claims she was blackmailed with the recorded content. The accused allegedly threatened to make the photos and videos viral on social media if she told anyone or approached the police. In addition to the sexual assault, the woman said she was repeatedly harassed and intimidated by the accused.

The complaint also mentions that the accused and some of his friends forcibly confined the victim at the hotel. She said she was held against her will and subjected to repeated pressure to meet the accused again, under threats of leaking the obscene footage.

Police Register FIR, Accused on the Run

Based on the woman’s statement, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including those dealing with rape, criminal intimidation, and wrongful confinement. As of now, no arrests have been made. Police have launched a manhunt to locate the accused.

This case adds to a series of disturbing sexual assault incidents across the country. In recent weeks, cases involving schoolgirls and minors have also surfaced in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Authorities have urged the public to report such crimes and assured full support to survivors during investigations.
