Delhi High Court Reserves Judgement in Augusta Westland Case

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday reserved its judgement in a plea by Augusta Westland deal accused and former emaar MGF director, Shravan Gupta, who see quashing of non-Apul warrant issued against him in the money laundering case by enforcement directorate ED

On Wednesday, Gupta’s legal team informed the court that he is willing to participate in The Probe through video conferencing because of certain medical obligations preventing him to travel to India. The council also filed a separate allegation seeking permission for visual participation. However, the court took note of the repeated adjournment request by Gupta’s council as inappropriate.

The ED maintains that Gupta has played a central role in laundering kickbacks received in the chopper deal. The E further alleged that Gupta facilitated the creation of offshore corporate structures to launder illicit payments received as kickbacks from the Augusta Westland deal for supplying 12 AW-101, helicopters to the Indian Air Force IAF.
