Apple is Set to Announce iPhone 18 Pro Launch Event Date this Week

The CSR Journal Magazine

Apple reportedly plans to announce the launch event date for the iPhone 18 Pro this week, with expectations for unveiling its flagship devices during a September event. Historical patterns suggest that the announcement may occur on Thursday, August 27, given that previous events for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 were also revealed on that date.

Insiders speculate the actual product launch could take place on September 9, making it a highly anticipated occasion for tech enthusiasts and fans of the brand.

Significant Changes in iPhone 18 Lineup

This year’s launch is drawing particular attention due to expected significant changes in the iPhone lineup, especially with the iPhone 18 Pro Max. This model might introduce an innovative camera feature that has not previously been offered on any iPhone.

In a contrasting move, Apple is also rumoured to be releasing their first foldable iPhone, expected to retail around $2000 (approximately Rs 1.90 lakh). However, there are concerns that this model may not include key features such as a telephoto camera and Face ID, which have been standard in its premium range.

Reports indicate that Apple is preparing a total of seven devices for the September event, which could make it one of the most significant launches in recent years.

Details on iPhone 18 Pro Models

The forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro models are anticipated to undergo notable modifications to both display and camera technology. It has been reported that Apple is working to shift some Face ID components beneath the screen, potentially reducing the size of the Dynamic Island feature or eliminating it altogether.

Additionally, the Pro models are expected to benefit from camera enhancements, including the introduction of a new sensor along with variable aperture technology, which would enable greater control over light entering the camera lens. However, this feature might be exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, as suggested by Chinese tipster Ice Universe.

If these changes prove true, they could offer Apple a new avenue to differentiate between the two Pro models and improve capabilities in various lighting conditions.

New Foldable iPhone and Other Products

The anticipated foldable iPhone, reportedly referred to as the iPhone Ultra, is expected to feature a sizeable interior display and a smaller exterior screen, resembling a traditional smartphone in usability. Despite its premium price point, it may exclude certain features typically found in Apple’s high-end devices.

It has been noted that the foldable version might forgo a dedicated telephoto camera and opt for Touch ID instead of Face ID, possibly due to design constraints that accompany a foldable form factor, raising questions among potential buyers.

In addition to the iPhones, the September event may showcase new versions of the Apple Watch, specifically the Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, focusing on performance upgrades and health-related features. Other anticipated products include an updated Apple TV and a new HomePod mini, with a dedicated smart home hub possibly being introduced later this year or in early 2027.

Further developments related to Macs and iPads are expected to extend into subsequent months, with plans for a MacBook Pro featuring the M6 chip and refreshed iMac models, with some releases likely slated for October. Additionally, there are indications that Apple is developing a high-end MacBook with an OLED touchscreen, targeted for a late 2026 or early 2027 launch.
